FAQ

How do I add audiobooks?

Tap + in the library and pick files or a whole folder from the Files app or iCloud Drive. You can also drop files into On My iPhone › Ohrensessel or share them from another app with “Open in”.

Is there a sample audiobook?

Yes: two short Aesop's fables (public domain, with chapters) – Volume 1 and Volume 2. Tap one on your iPhone, download it, then import it in Ohrensessel with + from the Downloads folder.

Which formats are supported?

M4B, M4A, MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV, AIFF and CAF – as a single file or a folder of files. Chapter marks and covers are imported. Copy-protected (DRM) audiobooks, for example from Audible or Apple Books, can't be played.

How does a book get onto my Apple Watch?

By default Ohrensessel keeps your next audiobooks on the watch automatically (Watch › Manage automatically). You can also send a book with the watch button in the player. The transfer runs over Bluetooth and takes a while for large books; it's fastest when the watch is on its charger and the iPhone is nearby.

The watch doesn't play anything.

Apple Watch only plays audiobooks through Bluetooth headphones or speakers. Pair them in the watch's Bluetooth settings; the app also offers this when you start playback.

How do I add the complication?

Touch and hold the watch face, tap Edit, swipe to the complications and choose Ohrensessel › Weiterhören (resume). Tapping it continues the current audiobook.

How does Ohrensessel Pro work?

One audiobook is free, with every feature. Ohrensessel Pro is a one-time purchase (no subscription, Family Sharing) that unlocks unlimited audiobooks. On a new device: Library › menu › Ohrensessel Pro › Restore purchases.

Will I lose my progress if I reinstall?

No, as long as iCloud is on. Ohrensessel backs up positions, bookmarks and stats to your iCloud and restores them when you import the same audiobooks again. The audio files themselves are not backed up.

The app's interface is currently in German.
